About the position

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Civil 3D Designer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in civil engineering design software to create precise, innovative, and practical designs for infrastructure projects. As a key player in our design team, you will collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency. Main responsibilities include preparing basic to highly complex intelligent models, details, and/or general arrangement drawings through proper translation of level of design (LOD), drawings, and sketches of unusual, complex, or original designs requiring the application of predominantly practical engineering knowledge. You will review manufacturers' or fabricators' prints for aid in design documents and provide lower-level modeling personnel with design sketches for preparation of finished design drawings, general layouts, and guidance in refining technical requirements. Additionally, you will determine material needs and perform necessary calculations using accepted formulas and references per the firm's standards. You will perform CADD/technical support tasks such as verifying intelligent model integrity and act as Intelligent Modeling Coordinator for basic to moderately complex projects during the project lifecycle to ensure coordination between the design team. You will also perform crosschecks of drawings to ensure consistency, provide general conceptual input to projects during the planning stages, and support or lead field assignments as required. Other duties include establishing design criteria for assigned phases of a project and performing related fundamental engineering support tasks such as plotting drawings, preparing transmittals, and assisting in making simple design calculations.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent with vocational technical training in basic CADD drafting technology and intelligent modeling.
• 12 years of related experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred.
• Experience with water and wastewater pipeline design/utility relocation is preferred.
