We are seeking a Senior Civil/Conveyance Engineer with experience in municipal and agricultural irrigation water projects to support delivering world-class conveyance and storage projects in Eastern Washington, Idaho, and Oregon. In this role, you will work with other members of our local and regional team to perform specialized engineering assignments for large capacity water conveyance and storage infrastructure. Your work will include design for open channel flow and low-pressure head conduit, flow control structures, pump stations, and force mains, as well as evaluations of water resources and other water-related civil infrastructure for various clients including municipal, private, state, Tribal, irrigation district, and Federal clients. Depending on project size and complexity, you will serve as a Design Manager, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Manager, performing technical tasks, leading technical teams, ensuring quality control, and coordinating resources to manage multiple concurrent water infrastructure projects throughout all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout. You will lead and manage project teams, ensuring that all phases of project delivery processes meet the scope, schedule, budget, and other specified requirements stated in each contract. Additionally, you will play an integral role in leading and mentoring staff, forming long-term relationships with clients, and pursuing new work, including strategy development, positioning, proposing, and negotiating contracts. Responsibilities

  • Perform specialized engineering assignments for large capacity water conveyance and storage infrastructure.
  • Design open channel flow and low-pressure head conduit, flow control structures, pump stations, and force mains.
  • Evaluate water resources and other water-related civil infrastructure for various clients.
  • Serve as Design Manager, Assistant Project Manager, or Project Manager depending on project size and complexity.
  • Lead technical teams and ensure quality control throughout project phases.
  • Coordinate resources to manage multiple concurrent water infrastructure projects.
  • Lead and manage project teams to meet scope, schedule, budget, and contract requirements.
  • Mentor junior staff and foster long-term client relationships.
  • Develop strategies for pursuing new work, including proposing and negotiating contracts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Biological and Agricultural, Environmental or other related engineering discipline.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) is required, or the ability to obtain within one year of hire if not registered in Washington, Idaho, or Oregon.
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in engineering and related roles.
  • Experience in Design Management, Assistant Project Management, and Project Management with oversight of design and preparation of plans, specifications, estimates, studies, proposals, and/or reports.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in a related engineering discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability as a seller-doer capable of developing business in the local market.
  • Technical and project management experience on fish passage, site development, irrigation diversion, water resources, large diameter pipeline projects, and economic analysis.
  • Experience working within multi-disciplinary teams to accomplish complex engineering, planning, and design assignments.
