About the position
The position involves the development of project design concepts, plans, reports, and specifications for various types of civil engineering projects, including commercial, industrial, and residential development, as well as public works facility improvements. Responsibilities include grading, roadway geometric layout, erosion control, SWPPP, low impact design, post-construction requirements, drainage system design, hydrology and hydraulics design, design exceptions, cost estimating, and preparation of project reports. The role also requires coordination and communication with clients and agency staff, managing contracts and budgets, and supervising and training design and production staff.
Responsibilities
- Develop project design concepts, plans, reports, and specifications for civil engineering projects.
- Manage contracts and budgets for projects.
- Supervise and train design and production staff.
- Coordinate and communicate with clients and agency staff.
- Prepare reports, plans, quantities, and bonding estimates for land development projects.
- Ensure compliance with stormwater requirements and regulations.
- Demonstrate strong project management skills including scope, budget, and scheduling control.
- Prepare proposals, RFPs, and SOQs including scope and budget, and participate in interviews with clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- California professional registration.
- Minimum of nine years of qualifying experience in civil engineering.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, FLO-2D, StormCAD, and HydroCAD.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in General Civil Engineering with emphasis on hydraulics and hydrology.
- Experience with stormwater requirements for roads and low impact development requirements.
- Experience with the entitlement process.
