Our client, a leading utility company in California, is seeking two Senior Civil Engineers for their San Dimas office. The incumbents will play a pivotal role in leading the design team for various drinking water capital improvement projects. This position requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited college and a Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification. The ideal candidates will have a minimum of six years of experience in water infrastructure design, showcasing their expertise in managing complex projects within the civil engineering domain. This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility in work arrangements while providing a competitive salary range of $108,000 to $157,000 per year. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of design plans and specifications for multiple potable water supply, treatment, storage, and distribution design projects. You will lead a design team, planning, directing, assigning, reviewing, and evaluating the work of assigned staff. This includes conducting performance evaluations and developing career profiles for team members. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will coordinate internal and external resources, including consultants, to ensure timely completion of design projects. You will work closely with asset management staff, operations, customer service, and water quality staff to prioritize design projects, monitor schedules and budgets, and implement corrective actions as necessary. Quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) are critical components of this position. You will perform QA/QC on design projects conducted by other engineers and consultants, ensuring that the design team meets schedules and budgets for all water supply and distribution design projects. Additionally, you will engage and manage consultants, reviewing their invoices and providing input on submittals and field changes during the construction phase. Representing the company in public settings regarding projects is also part of your responsibilities, along with providing engineering design services for Capital Improvement Programs and related documents, including preliminary design reports, project cost estimates, cost/benefit analysis, and various evaluations and reports on system hydraulics, water supply, distribution, storage, treatment, and water quality projects.
