About the position
The Senior Civil Engineer Supervisor (Transportation) at the Montgomery County Department of Transportation is responsible for overseeing maintenance activities for highways and bridges. This role involves managing a team, developing operational plans, and ensuring quality standards are met while fostering effective communication with stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate, supervise, and manage maintenance activities for highways and bridges.
- Manage the development of plans and cost estimates for operational activities such as paving, construction, and snow removal.
- Make recommendations for resource distribution to meet program objectives and enhance customer satisfaction.
- Inspect fieldwork for adherence to policies, quality standards, and project plans.
- Engage with stakeholders to address concerns and improve relationships.
- Assess road conditions to prioritize tasks appropriately and ensure safety protocols are implemented.
Requirements
- Six years of civil engineering experience in the appropriate specialty and an Engineer-in-Training certificate; or
- Five years of civil engineering experience and an Engineer-in-Training certificate, along with an associate's degree in civil engineering technology or a closely related discipline; or
- Two years of professional civil engineering experience and a bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related engineering discipline.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.
