About the position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join their Land Development Group in Melbourne, FL. This role involves a variety of civil engineering tasks including grading, site plans, utility design, and stormwater management. The position offers opportunities to work on diverse projects for federal, state, and local agencies, and may involve travel to various locations in the US, Europe, and the Middle East.

Responsibilities

• Designs and develops plans and drawings, including preliminary layout and final drawings.
• Organizes and conducts engineering investigations and planning work with a well-defined scope.
• Prepares straightforward reports and sections of more complex reports under the guidance of experienced professionals.
• Provides engineering services during construction activities, including reviewing shop drawings and preparing progress reports.
• Researches feasibility of alternative design approaches and regulatory agency specifications.
• Contributes to the development of specifications and permit applications, and writes miscellaneous reports.
• Prepares preliminary man-hour, cost, and material quantity estimates.
• Participates in quality control checks and maintains quality standards in all work produced.
• Performs field observations of construction as appropriate.

Requirements

• B.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering
• 10 years of experience in Land Development or 9 years with a M.S.
• Technical writing, computer, and communication skills
• AutoCAD skills
• Experience using ICPR and WaterGEMS
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
