About the position

The Senior Civil Engineer position at Sargent & Lundy involves leading civil design engineering efforts within multi-disciplined project teams, primarily focused on projects for the US Department of Energy and the National Nuclear Security Administration. This mid-level role offers opportunities for career advancement and requires a mix of on-site and remote work. The engineer will be responsible for producing design drawings, conducting civil analyses, and mentoring junior engineers, contributing to meaningful and challenging engineering work.

Responsibilities

• Lead civil design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team
• Produce design drawings, civil analysis and calculations, procurement specifications and construction specifications (civil sections)
• Attend project meetings and perform field walkdowns
• Mentor junior engineers

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify
• BSCE from an ABET Engineering Accreditation Commission-approved program
• PE License, or ability to obtain one (preference for having a PE license)
• Specific experience in drainage, grading/site preparation, stormwater prevention planning and retention, geotechnical characterization, and foundation design
• Five or more years of working in a project team environment in the design of industrial design projects or power plant experience
• Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance
• Experience working with and/or at Department of Energy sites and facilities
• Experience in preparing design drawings, engineering analyses and calculations, and construction, fabrication and procurement specifications
