About the position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly motivated Senior Civil Engineer to join their Austin, Texas Civil Engineering Group. This role involves working on a variety of civil engineering projects, including grading, site plans, roads, utilities, and stormwater management. The Senior Civil Engineer will engage in local, state, and federal projects, providing opportunities for travel across the US, Europe, and the Middle East. The position emphasizes collaboration with other civil engineering groups and offers a chance to contribute to significant infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Performs project design and sketches design concepts for development by junior engineers and technicians.
  • Plans and oversees the production of engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Plans and oversees engineering investigations or planning work.
  • Develops and evaluates plans and criteria for new projects, selecting cost-effective solutions.
  • Analyzes technical problems and assesses the feasibility of proposed techniques and procedures.
  • Prepares or oversees the preparation of cost and manpower estimates, schedules, and job budgets.
  • Coordinates work with project managers and guides junior professionals in design and drafting.
  • Responsible for quality control and maintaining quality standards in all work produced.
  • May occasionally manage projects.

Requirements

  • B.S. or M.S. in Engineering; M.S. or graduate level technical coursework preferred.
  • Four to ten years of experience in civil engineering.
  • Texas P.E. license required (or ability to obtain within 6 months).
  • Proven technical writing and communication skills.
  • Experience with roadways, sanitary sewers, water distribution systems, storm drain facilities, site grading, and stormwater management.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D is required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ProjectWise, Bluebeam, SharePoint, and MS Project.
  • Local experience working in the Denver Front Range area.
