WSP is currently seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for our Buffalo, New York office, with consideration for candidates in New York City, Valhalla, and Troy. This role involves engaging with our Highway Transportation Team to contribute to a variety of infrastructure projects that meet client objectives and address their challenges. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will provide technical assistance and guidance for multi-site and multi-phase projects, including due diligence, investigation, remediation, impact assessment, permitting, and construction. Your responsibilities will encompass the research, design, concept development, planning, and construction of various facilities such as roads, buildings, tunnels, dams, bridges, water supply systems, and sewage treatment facilities. In this position, you will substantiate reports and documentation regarding materials, installations, and construction specifications, ensuring that all responsibilities are delivered with a quality that meets or exceeds industry standards for design, safety, and functionality. You will determine effective methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from various sources, including physical work sites, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, and hydrologic analysis, to support project development and construction. Your role will also involve performing professional civil engineering work, conducting research and inspections of site conditions, and ensuring compliance with applicable rules, standards, and permits. You will develop construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates, while preparing safety and phasing plans that require coordination with various stakeholders. Additionally, you will work collaboratively with a cross-functional team of engineers, planners, and scientific professionals to execute project work on multiple concurrent projects, ensuring that all work conforms to specifications and regulatory requirements. As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate research findings and recommendations, assist in the analysis and interpretation of data from field investigations, and prepare site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs). You will interact with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a professional manner, while remaining current with the latest civil engineering techniques and practices. This position requires responsible decision-making regarding company resources and adherence to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies.
