About the position

Carollo Engineers is seeking a Senior Civil/Environmental Engineer to support the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater facilities. This role involves working on municipal water and wastewater treatment projects, including treatment plant expansions and water reuse projects, with a focus on creating sustainable water supplies. The position emphasizes collaboration within a diverse team and aims to contribute to the company's vision of being the best water consulting firm.

Responsibilities

  • Performs engineering work in various fields within the Environmental Practice for Water and Wastewater Treatment and Infrastructure Practice.
  • Works on engineering designs, prepares reports, develops plans, prepares specifications, and cost estimates for various water and wastewater infrastructure projects.
  • Prepares technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables; conducts data entry and analysis, and works through the construction phase on projects.
  • Plans, schedules, and conducts engineering work on medium to large-sized projects of moderately complex nature.
  • Acts independently on technical matters pertaining to civil/environmental engineering.
  • Responsible for budget, schedule, contractual obligations, and quality standards.
  • Trains and monitors internal staff.
  • Develops significant relationships with new and existing clients and maintains client relationships.
  • Active in professional associations, including attendance and participation in conventions.
  • Travels when requested.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 10-15 years of wastewater design experience in environmental consulting engineering, with emphasis on hydraulics and treatment processes.
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and designing medium-sized projects with full responsibility for budget and schedule.
  • Experience designing wastewater treatment plants, including conceptual and detailed design preparation.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
  • Experience with wastewater collection systems and water transmission/distribution projects.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.

Nice-to-haves
