The Senior Civil/Structural Engineer position at Brooksource involves providing design engineering and review services for utility consulting projects. The role requires a licensed engineer with extensive experience in civil and structural design, particularly in the energy sector. The engineer will oversee design reviews, mentor junior staff, and ensure quality control on projects, while also engaging with clients and contributing to proposal development.

Responsibilities

• Perform design reviews of civil/structural components for substation projects.
• Develop junior staff members and contribute to their growth.
• Take on a responsible engineer role on main client projects, ensuring quality control on design packages.
• Conduct site visits to client substation facilities as part of the work.
• Engage in front-facing client operations such as lunch and learns and kick-off meetings.
• Comply with quality control and safe work practices, maintaining project scope, schedule, and budget expectations.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Civil-Structural Engineering - Required
• PE Licensure - Required
• Experience with Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint & MATHCAD software - Required
• Experience with STAAD.Pro, RISA 3D, FAD Tools, SAFE, SAG10, and LPILE software - Required
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and MicroStation - Required
• Strong analytical and technical writing skills
• Team player with ability to communicate with clients and staff
• Willingness to travel, up to 25%
