About the position

AECOM is seeking a talented and well-versed Senior Civil / Transit Engineer to join our World Class Transit & Rail team in Boston, MA. The selected candidate will manage and serve as a technical lead to provide expertise for mid to large size transit projects, including subway, commuter rail, and inner-city rail, with one of the busiest transit agencies in the country. In this role, the Senior Civil / Transit Engineer will lead and identify opportunities in the New England area for railway and transit projects. The engineer will be responsible for the delivery of projects that satisfy client needs, developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, and ensuring that all project specifications, cost estimates, and schedules are met. The engineer will prepare technical reports and analyses, coordinate and provide technical expertise for mid- to large-size projects, and lead technical client relationships related to track design, construction, and phasing of work. The position also involves overseeing and managing work within the right-of-way (ROW) for multiple projects, coordinating with various departments related to a project's scope of work, and developing procurement specifications. The Senior Civil / Transit Engineer will provide specialized technical input to studies and design for the staff's specific area of expertise, ensuring that all project deliverables meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and identify opportunities in the New England area for railway and transit projects.
  • Lead delivery of projects to satisfy clients.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.
  • Develop specifications, cost estimates, and project schedules.
  • Prepare technical reports and analyses.
  • Coordinate and provide technical expertise for mid- to large-size projects.
  • Lead technical client relationships related to track design, track construction, and phasing of work.
  • Provide specialized technical input to studies and design for staff's specific area of expertise.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Civil, Electrical Engineering or related field plus 10 years of relevant experience and/or education.

Nice-to-haves

  • Professional Engineering License (PE).
  • Previous transit agency experience.
