About the position

The Senior Clinical Research Coordinator will oversee clinical research activities within the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation at UC Davis. This role involves managing participant recruitment, coordinating study visits, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintaining communication with study participants. The coordinator will also assist in patient assessments and outreach activities, contributing to the overall success of clinical trials and research initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Senior Clinical Research Coordinator for the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
  • Screen and recruit participants for clinical trials.
  • Schedule appointments and organize protocol-specific patient study visits.
  • Process and ship appropriate labs and complete case report forms and regulatory documentation.
  • Enter electronic data and process participant reimbursements.
  • Review study-related billing and maintain contact with study participants for long-term follow-up and study closeout activities.
  • Maintain site regulatory files including IRB compliance and Good Clinical Practice standards.
  • Assist in the collection of patient assessments such as vitals, height, and weight.
  • Attend training sessions and off-site investigator meetings as needed.

Requirements

  • Certified Clinical Research Coordinator Certification through SoCRA.
  • BS/BA in Kinesiology or equivalent education and experience in health sciences.
  • Minimum of 2 years of pediatric and adult clinical trial experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience performing clinical evaluations/assessments on patients with neuromuscular diseases.
  • Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice, IRB policies, and ICH regulations.
  • In-depth knowledge of exercise physiology methodology and equipment.
  • Direct experience with assessments like the 6-minute walk test and pulmonary function test.
  • Math proficiency to the algebra level.
  • Effective communication skills with faculty members and PIs.
  • Demonstrated project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and databases for study data collection.

  • Ability to function as a resource for professionals requiring assistance.
