About the position

The Senior Cloud Data Architect position is a critical role within our organization, located in Quincy, MA, and offers a hybrid working model. This position is expected to last for a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing robust cloud data architectures that support our enterprise data strategy. This includes working with decentralized data architectures, particularly the Data Mesh model, to ensure that data is accessible, reliable, and secure across the organization. In this role, you will leverage your extensive experience in cloud data architecture, data warehousing, and ETL processes to create and maintain end-to-end data solutions. You will work closely with technical stakeholders, vendors, and business consumers to propose and explain data solutions that meet the needs of the organization. Your expertise in cloud database platforms, particularly Snowflake, will be essential as you architect and develop cloud-based data solutions on AWS. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system engineering and administration, with experience managing large, multi-terabyte enterprise data platforms in the cloud. You will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations, particularly in handling sensitive healthcare information. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be required to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cloud data architectures that support enterprise data strategy.
  • Create and maintain end-to-end data solutions in a cloud environment.
  • Work with decentralized data architectures, specifically Data Mesh.
  • Collaborate with technical stakeholders, vendors, and business consumers to propose data solutions.
  • Manage large, multi-terabyte enterprise data platforms in the cloud.
  • Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations, particularly HIPAA.
  • Provide system administration and database administration support.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Cloud Data Architecture, data warehousing, data modeling, ETL, and enterprise information systems.
  • Thorough knowledge and implementation experience of data warehouse and enterprise data architecture principles.
  • 3-5 years of experience architecting/developing cloud-based data solutions, specifically on AWS.
  • 5+ years of experience with cloud database platforms such as Snowflake.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining end-to-end data architectures.
  • Strong communication skills for explaining solutions to technical stakeholders and business consumers.
  • Proficiency with Unix, Linux, and shell scripting.
  • Experience with system administration, database administration, storage architectures, backup & recovery, and networking.
  • Experience with Informatica (IICS) ETL and Snowflake data warehousing.
  • Familiarity with handling highly sensitive healthcare information and knowledge of HIPAA and data privacy controls.
