About the position

The Senior Cloud Data Engineer will play a crucial role in enhancing the company's cloud computing capabilities by combining technical expertise with business insight. This position involves designing, maintaining, and supporting cloud infrastructure, with a focus on cloud billing solutions and data analysis. The engineer will work collaboratively with other teams to optimize cloud usage and implement best practices, while also participating in Agile development processes.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and implement optimal cloud billing solutions for the company.
  • Plan, design, and develop cloud billing patterns.
  • Deploy and debug cloud usage and budget reporting according to best practices.
  • Educate teams on cloud usage patterns and optimization opportunities.
  • Employ exceptional problem-solving skills to address issues proactively.
  • Lead and develop best practices for the Cloud FinOps team.
  • Participate in Agile sprints and ceremonies to support rapid iteration and development.
  • Build code to specifications and standards.
  • Create and conduct executable tests, integrating code into the overall software framework.
  • Research technical strategies and tools to improve development efficiency.
  • Promote agile principles and methodology.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or relevant field.
  • 7+ years of industry experience.
  • 2-5+ years of experience architecting scalable distributed systems.
  • 3+ years of experience in Azure Cloud.
  • Experience in Cloud data analysis.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Grafana, Power BI and other reporting tools.
  • Knowledge and experience with Public/Private/Hybrid cloud architecture (PaaS) with at least one end-to-end enterprise implementation, preferably using Azure with AKS and other resources such as Azure SQL.
  • Strong understanding of Cloud Billing and Budgeting concepts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of software engineering practices such as code review, source control, continuous integration and testing in an agile environment with a focus on DevOps.
  • Skilled with scripting languages and technologies such as API Gateways, Messaging, Data Event Streaming, REST, SOAP, Distributed Tracing, Relational and Document Database Interface/SQL.
