About the position

The Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer at Centripetal is responsible for building and automating the deployment of software in a multi-cloud environment, focusing on Infrastructure as Code (IaC) initiatives. This role involves leading the development and management of global infrastructure across various cloud service providers, driving CI/CD processes, and enhancing operational posture through collaboration with engineering teams. The position emphasizes innovation, ownership, and the ability to tackle complex technology challenges in a dynamic startup atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and management of global infrastructure across multiple cloud service providers (GCP, AWS, Azure, OCI).
• Drive the overall direction of CI/CD for the CIS division at Centripetal adhering to industry best practices.
• Oversee software upgrades for internally managed software such as database clusters including Redis and CrateDB.
• Partner with the wider engineering team to improve operational posture through enhanced monitoring and analysis of cloud deployments.
• Collaborate closely with the Principal Software Engineering Lead to efficiently allocate and manage DevOps responsibilities.

Requirements

• Proficient in Linux system administration and Bash shell scripting.
• Expertise with at least one of the major cloud service providers like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experienced with Terraform and container technologies like Docker.
• Experienced in building monitoring systems using Prometheus and Grafana.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and a results-oriented mindset emphasizing code quality.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Ansible.
• At least 5+ years of Cloud DevOps experience.
• A B.S. or M.S. in computer science or related field.

• Experience with networking or cybersecurity fundamentals.
