About the position

As a Senior Cloud DevSecOps Engineer at Applied Insight LLC, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the capabilities of federal government customers by leveraging advanced technologies and quality analysis. Your work will focus on solving real-world problems that matter, particularly in the areas of national security, justice delivery, and public service. You will be part of a team that collaborates closely with various agencies and industry partners to overcome technical and cultural hurdles to innovation, empowering them with cutting-edge cloud infrastructure, big data, and cyber capabilities. Your expertise in cross-domain solutions, network analytics, and DevOps will be vital in developing and delivering innovative products and applications that are deployed in highly sensitive environments with broad applications for federal missions. In your daily responsibilities, you will architect and manage cloud networking solutions in AWS and/or Azure, applying advanced concepts such as transit gateways and VPC peering. You will configure and deploy virtualized routers and firewalls, manage resources across multiple cloud environments, and automate processes using popular DevOps tools and scripting languages. Your role will also involve contributing to code repositories, managing Kubernetes clusters, implementing Single-Sign-On solutions, and developing VDI solutions. You will be expected to harden security across various layers, integrate logging solutions, and continuously improve deployment processes through collaboration with management and peers. To excel in this role, you should take the initiative to implement new solutions and possess a deep understanding of cloud architecture and DevSecOps methodologies. You will be expected to work independently and demonstrate a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud services and applications. Your qualifications will include U.S. Citizenship and a current TS/SCI clearance, along with relevant experience in cloud automation, CI/CD, and network security.

Responsibilities

  • Architect and manage cloud networking solutions in AWS and/or Azure.
  • Configure and deploy virtualized routers and firewalls.
  • Manage and provision resources within AWS, Azure, GCP, and other cloud environments.
  • Automate processes using popular DevOps tools and scripting languages.
  • Contribute to git repositories and assist with code review and approval.
  • Deploy, configure, and manage Kubernetes clusters.
  • Implement Single-Sign-On (SSO) solutions with MFA, SAML, and iDP integration.
  • Develop and manage VDI solutions utilizing AWS Workspaces and Azure Windows Virtual Desktop.
  • Harden security at the cloud provider, networking, and OS layers.
  • Integrate logging solutions to EFK Stacks (ElasticSearch, Fluentd, Kibana).
  • Perform deep-level troubleshooting of cloud services and applications.
  • Create and continuously update documentation.
  • Collaborate with management and peers to improve deployment processes.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship required and Current TS/SCI required.
  • Experience with cloud automation, CI/CD, or serverless tools.
  • Experience working with JSON or YAML to write Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
  • Experience with implementing, troubleshooting and securing/monitoring cloud networks.
  • Cloud Experience (AWS, Azure) and knowledge of best practices.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Go, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with Linux configuration management, system administration, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with configuring and deploying containers.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Gitlab, Jenkins).
  • Experience developing using cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, Azure) using containers and orchestration.

Nice-to-haves

  • Firewall configuration and management experience.
  • AWS Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Administrator Associate Certification.
  • Azure Administrator Associate, Developer Associate, DevOps Solutions, DevOps Engineer Expert.
