About the position

The Senior Cloud Developer will play a crucial role in a small, dedicated team focused on leveraging technology to provide emergency housing solutions. This position involves architecting and developing backend services, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring high-quality code while contributing to a mission-driven organization.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the CTO and Lead Engineer to architect and develop backend services using Node.js, TypeScript, AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, and serverless frameworks.
• Lead and mentor junior engineers and offshore team members, providing guidance and support to enhance team performance.
• Gather functional requirements by working closely with stakeholders and the product team.
• Perform code reviews, offering feedback to improve processes and ensure high-quality code.
• Design and develop RESTful endpoints and backend infrastructure on AWS.
• Participate in automated, e2e, performance, and smoke testing.
• Maintain and enhance existing applications while adhering to coding standards in new development.

Requirements

• Strong backend development skills using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Experience with AWS services, particularly Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, Cognito, and serverless architectures.
• Proficiency in designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and GitHub Actions.
• Solid understanding of Agile processes.
• Knowledge of serverless API design and familiarity with GIT.
