We are seeking a talented Senior Cloud Developer for an immediate contract opportunity that offers long-term potential. This position is based in Minneapolis, MN, and is expected to last for 12 months or more. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing solid and supportable modular designs for data streaming, cloud transformation/migration, and API product development that support critical applications. The role involves creating and supporting data-centric products that encompass multiple specializations, platforms, and technologies, ensuring that they meet the operational and analytical needs of our internal business operations, customers, and partners. In this role, you will develop data APIs and data delivery services, analyze technical information, and produce quality software. You will initiate collaboration with teammates and offer creative solutions to overcome obstacles. Working within automated testing and CI/CD processes is essential, as is being an expert on the products we build. Documentation of solutions in both written and diagram form is required, along with effective communication across teams. You will leverage developer coding standards to ensure that designs meet business needs and identify technical issues, articulating their impact and need for prioritization. Proactive communication with both the team and leadership is crucial, as is collaboration with vendors. The position requires good verbal and written communication skills, experience working with multiple disparate systems, and proficiency in cloud technologies, particularly AWS (preferred) or Azure. You should have experience with Python, Java, shell scripting (Bash and PowerShell), and SQL, as well as experience working with streaming data and data extraction from various databases such as Oracle, DB2, and MySQL. Familiarity with deploying and managing infrastructures based on Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift is also necessary, along with experience in scalable data extraction tools, Kafka, Aurora, AWS Glue, and Redshift. Understanding data engineering, real-time streaming, eventing, and JSON parsing is important, as is experience with automating application deployment and continuous integration/delivery using tools like Jenkins and Ansible. Building microservices and API architecture, along with strong debugging and troubleshooting skills, are essential for success in this role. Flexibility, a passion for learning, and strong communication skills are key attributes we are looking for in a candidate. Experience in Business Intelligence/Analytics is a plus, as is a degree in Information Systems or Computer Science, or equivalent experience. Airline industry experience is also a plus, as our client is a leading organization in the airline sector.
