About the position

The Senior Cloud Developer position is a full-time role based in Atlanta, GA, requiring a strong background in cloud development and migration, particularly with AWS. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 to 8 years of experience in software development, with at least 4 years specifically focused on AWS cloud technologies. This role demands proficiency in advanced Java technologies, as well as familiarity with Python, shell scripting, and SQL. The candidate should be adept at working with various databases, including Oracle, DB2, and MySQL, and have experience in deploying and managing infrastructures using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift. In addition to technical skills, the Senior Cloud Developer will be expected to demonstrate strong communication abilities, both verbal and written. The role involves collaborating with colleagues across different teams and systems, making it essential for the candidate to be flexible and eager to learn. Experience with streaming data, data extraction tools, and automation of application deployment using tools like Jenkins and Ansible will be beneficial. The candidate should also have a solid understanding of microservices and API architecture, as well as debugging and troubleshooting skills. Responsibilities

• Develop and migrate applications to AWS cloud environments.
• Utilize advanced Java technologies for application development.
• Implement and manage cloud infrastructures using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift.
• Work with streaming data and perform data extraction from various databases.
• Automate application deployment and manage continuous integration and delivery processes.
• Build microservices and API architectures to enhance application functionality.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot and debug applications.
• Engage in ongoing learning and adaptation to new technologies and methodologies.

Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of development experience.
• Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in AWS cloud development and migration.
• Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience with advanced Java technologies.
• Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python is a plus.
• Proficiency in shell scripting (Bash and PowerShell) and SQL.
• Experience with streaming data and data extraction from databases like Oracle, DB2, and MySQL.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift for infrastructure management.
• Experience with Kafka, Aurora, AWS Glue, and Redshift is a plus.
• Understanding of data engineering, real-time streaming, and JSON parsing.
• Experience with automating application deployment using Jenkins, Ansible, etc.

Nice-to-haves

• Business Intelligence/Analytics experience is a plus.
• Experience with scalable data extraction tools is a plus.
