About the position

The Cloud Developer position at ALTA IT is a long-term contract role focused on cloud development to support various projects, including collection and processing pipeline development and database development. The role involves the initial deployment of enterprise cloud-based systems and requires expertise in AWS cloud application development, Agile methodologies, and proficiency in Python and front-end frameworks like Angular or React.

Responsibilities

• Support cloud development work for various projects.
• Develop collection and processing pipelines.
• Engage in database development and management.
• Deploy enterprise cloud-based systems.
• Lead database management, programming, cloud security/recovery, and cloud-centric integration efforts.
• Write and maintain Python code and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for deployment using AWS CDK or Terraform.
• Model business processes using AWS Step Functions.
• Develop container-based applications utilizing REST APIs with Angular or React in Typescript.
• Utilize AWS CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail for logging and auditing in a regulated environment.
• Perform remediation and unit testing of code during application development and user deployment.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Ability to pass a Federal background check for Level 4 Public Trust Clearance.
• Experience in AWS cloud application development.
• Agile development experience.
• Expert knowledge in cloud technology platforms, cloud tools/services, DevOps, and database management.
• Hands-on AWS development experience is required.
• Experience in Python code development and workflow design using Airflow.
• Functional knowledge of Docker.
• Experience with AWS Lambda functions and their deployment types.
• Experience in database development and data migration (Postgres and Redshift).
• Experience in building/accessing Data Lakes using Glue/Athena/Redshift.

Nice-to-haves

• GovCloud development experience helpful.
• Experience with designing Glue jobs using both Python Shell and PySpark.
• Experience with SNS/SQL implementation techniques and event triggering.
