The thinkorswim Trading Technology team is responsible for our award-winning, professional-level platform for active traders, which includes Desktop, Web, and Mobile applications. This team has combined the strengths of Schwab and Ameritrade to create a world-class trading experience that allows clients to manage positions, find quotes, access charts, studies, get support, and place trades easily and securely. The thinkorswim mobile app syncs with preferences and settings from the thinkorswim desktop, allowing for seamless market scans and technical analysis across multiple devices. We are seeking a Senior Cloud Developer who is adaptable, self-motivated, and passionate about containerization, cloud services, technology, and SDLC pipeline management. In this role, you will focus your time equally across design, hands-on development, and providing mentorship to our junior developers while being part of critical app modernization and cloud migration efforts. You will have the opportunity to work on a team of hardworking engineers on one of the most sophisticated trading platforms in the world, built on a codebase that we are constantly updating with the latest and greatest industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop cloud-based applications and services.
• Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on best practices.
• Manage and maintain CI/CD build pipelines for efficient deployment.
• Implement and manage containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of services.
• Participate in the modernization of applications and migration to cloud environments.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related fields.
• 8+ years of hands-on automation development experience.
• 4+ years' experience in cloud environments such as GCP or AWS.
• 5+ years of proficiency in Java or other object-oriented languages.
• 5+ years of experience in setting up and maintaining CI/CD build pipelines.
• 5+ years of proficiency with scripting languages (Shell, Python, Ansible, etc.).
• 5+ years of systems administration understanding, especially in Linux.
• 3+ years of experience with containerization technologies like Docker.
• 3+ years of experience developing and managing Kubernetes clusters both on-premise and in the cloud.
• 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code concepts (Terraform).
