The thinkorswim Trading Technology team is responsible for our award-winning, professional-level platform designed for active traders, encompassing Desktop, Web, and Mobile applications. This platform combines the strengths of Schwab and Ameritrade, creating a world-class trading experience that allows clients to manage positions, find quotes, access charts, studies, receive support, and place trades easily and securely. The thinkorswim mobile app is designed to sync seamlessly with preferences and settings from the thinkorswim desktop application, enabling users to conduct market scans and technical analysis across multiple devices without interruption. We are currently seeking a Senior Cloud Developer who is adaptable, self-motivated, and passionate about containerization, cloud services, technology, and SDLC pipeline management. In this role, you will dedicate your time equally to design, hands-on development, and providing mentorship to junior developers. You will be an integral part of our critical application modernization and cloud migration efforts. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a team of dedicated engineers on one of the most sophisticated trading platforms globally, built on a continuously updated codebase that adheres to the latest industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop cloud-based applications and services.
• Mentor junior developers and provide guidance on best practices.
• Manage and maintain CI/CD build pipelines for efficient deployment.
• Implement and manage containerization technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of services.
• Participate in application modernization and cloud migration projects.
• Conduct system design and architecture discussions.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or related fields.
• 8+ years of hands-on automation development experience.
• 4+ years of experience in cloud environments such as GCP or AWS.
• 5+ years of proficiency in Java or other object-oriented programming languages.
• 5+ years of experience in setting up and maintaining CI/CD build pipelines.
• 5+ years of proficiency in scripting languages (Shell, Python, Ansible, etc.).
• 5+ years of systems administration experience, particularly with Linux.
• 3+ years of experience with containerization technologies like Docker.
• 3+ years of experience developing and managing Kubernetes clusters both on-premise and in the cloud.
• 3+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code concepts, particularly Terraform.
