About the position

As a Senior Cloud Development Engineer at Pegasystems, you will be an integral part of our innovative Pega Cloud team, which is dedicated to delivering essential services for Pega as a Service. This role involves collaborating with talented engineers and product owners across the globe, including teams in the US, EU, and India, to build highly scalable Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings. You will be responsible for designing and developing cloud-native systems that are highly available and scalable, utilizing programming languages such as Golang and Python. Your work will encompass a variety of tasks, including infrastructure hosting and orchestration, the design and development of CI/CD pipelines, and the integration and testing of our services. You will leverage DevOps tools to enable automated operations, ensuring that our services are efficient and reliable. As part of a collaborative agile team, you will also maintain and build services that comply with FedRAMP standards within AWS, assisting our operations team throughout the entire service lifecycle. This position requires a strong understanding of DevOps culture and a versatile technical skill set. You will bring good practices around design patterns to support our cloud services and will be experienced in maintaining and creating CloudFormation templates, libraries, and Terraform modules. Your expertise in Linux and Unix systems, along with scripting and automation, will be crucial in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Build highly-available, scalable cloud-native systems using Golang and Python
  • Design and develop CI/CD pipelines, integrations, and testing
  • Leverage DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines for automated operations
  • Collaborate as part of an agile team
  • Maintain and build FedRAMP compliant services inside AWS
  • Assist operations team with sophisticated operations throughout the service lifecycle

Requirements

  • Strong understanding and experience in cloud technologies, ideally with a multi-cloud perspective
  • Hands-on experience with AWS; GCP experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of Golang and Python
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Helm/Terraform/CloudFormation)
  • Knowledge and experience in Docker and Kubernetes (CKAD certification is a plus)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug Linux development stack (Linux, Tomcat, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins and CI/CD pipeline automation
  • Bachelor's/master's degree in computer science and/or 4+ years of relevant experience
  • US Citizenship due to Government Support/FedRamp requirements

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with FedRAMP related knowledge, including security scans and audit reviews
  • Familiarity with CI/CD testing frameworks
