About the position

As a Senior Cloud Development Engineer at Pegasystems, you will be an integral part of our innovative Pega Cloud team, which is dedicated to delivering essential services for Pega as a Service. This role involves collaborating with talented engineers and product owners across the globe, including teams in the US, EU, and India, to build highly scalable Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings. You will be responsible for designing and developing cloud-native systems that are highly available and scalable, utilizing programming languages such as Golang and Python. Your expertise will contribute to the infrastructure hosting and orchestration, ensuring that our services are robust and efficient. In this position, you will also focus on the design and development of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, integrations, and testing processes. Leveraging DevOps tools, you will enable automated operations of our services, working as part of a collaborative agile team. A key aspect of your role will be maintaining and building services that comply with FedRAMP standards within AWS, as well as assisting our operations team with sophisticated operations throughout the entire service lifecycle. Your contributions will be vital in supporting our Pega Cloud's evolution towards a comprehensive 'as-a-Service' model.

Responsibilities

  • Build highly-available, scalable cloud-native systems using Golang and Python
  • Design and develop CI/CD pipelines, integrations, and testing processes
  • Leverage DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines for automated operations
  • Collaborate as part of an agile team
  • Maintain and build FedRAMP compliant services inside AWS
  • Assist operations team with sophisticated operations throughout the service lifecycle

Requirements

  • Strong understanding and experience in Cloud technologies, ideally with a multi-cloud perspective
  • Hands-on experience with AWS; GCP experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of Golang and Python programming languages
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Helm/Terraform/Cloudformation)
  • Knowledge and experience in Docker and Kubernetes; CKAD certification is a plus
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug Linux development stack (Linux, Tomcat, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins and pipeline automation
  • Bachelor's/master's degree in computer science or 4+ years of relevant experience
  • US Citizenship due to Government Support/FedRAMP requirements

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with security scans, audit reviews, and fixes related to FedRAMP
  • Familiarity with CI/CD testing frameworks
  • Experience in scripting and automation in Linux and Unix systems
