About the position

As a Senior Cloud Development Engineer at Pegasystems, you will be an integral part of our innovative Pega Cloud team, which is dedicated to delivering essential services for Pega as a Service success. This role involves collaborating with talented engineers and product owners across the globe, including teams in the US, EU, and India, to build highly scalable Software as a Service (SaaS) offerings. You will be responsible for designing and developing cloud-native systems that are highly available and scalable, utilizing programming languages such as Golang and Python. Your expertise will contribute to the infrastructure hosting and orchestration, as well as the design and development of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, integrations, and testing processes. In this position, you will leverage DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines to enable automated operations of our services, working as part of a collaborative agile team. A key aspect of your role will be to maintain and build services that comply with FedRAMP standards within AWS. You will also assist our operations team with sophisticated operations throughout the entire service lifecycle, ensuring that our cloud services are robust and reliable. We are looking for a candidate who understands DevOps culture and possesses a versatile technical skill set. You should bring good practices around design patterns to support our Pega Cloud with its evolution towards an 'as-a-Service' model. Your experience in maintaining and creating CloudFormation templates, libraries, and Terraform modules will be crucial, as will your skills in Linux and Unix systems, scripting, and automation. This role requires a strong understanding of cloud technologies, ideally with a multi-cloud perspective, and hands-on experience with AWS, with GCP knowledge being a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build highly-available, scalable cloud-native systems using Golang and Python
  • Design and develop CI/CD pipelines, integrations, and testing processes
  • Leverage DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines for automated operations of services
  • Collaborate as part of an agile team
  • Maintain and build FedRAMP compliant services inside AWS
  • Assist operations team with sophisticated operations throughout the service lifecycle

Requirements

  • Bachelor's/master's degree in computer science and/or 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding and experience in cloud technologies, ideally with a multi-cloud perspective
  • Hands-on AWS experience; GCP knowledge is a plus
  • Knowledge of Golang and Python
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Helm/Terraform/CloudFormation)
  • Knowledge and experience in Docker and Kubernetes (CKAD certification is a plus)
  • Ability to troubleshoot and debug Linux development stack (Linux, Tomcat, PostgreSQL, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins and pipeline automation

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with FedRAMP related knowledge, including security scans and audit reviews
  • Familiarity with CI/CD testing frameworks
