As a Senior Cloud Engineer specializing in Azure and VMC at AIG, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the cloud architecture and ensuring the optimal performance of our cloud workloads. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with development teams to understand their needs and provide feedback on the best cloud workload solutions within the agency's Azure environment. You will be tasked with setting up and managing cloud environment configurations to support Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) and application workloads, ensuring that our cloud infrastructure is robust and efficient. Your expertise in Azure services will be crucial as you design and build automation platforms utilizing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and PowerShell. You will also be responsible for supporting operational requests, communicating the level of effort and status updates to the cloud leadership team. A significant aspect of your role will involve establishing a secure Azure Cloud Foundation for WVD and Citrix implementations, as well as identifying opportunities to enhance the security posture of our cloud environments. In addition to your technical skills, you will work closely with the AIG FinOps team to optimize costs within the Azure Landing Zone. Your in-depth knowledge of VMware virtualization and VMC disaster recovery solutions will be essential for creating and managing VMC setups. Familiarity with Ansible will be considered a plus, as it will further enhance your ability to automate and streamline processes within our cloud infrastructure.
