About the position

The Senior Cloud Engineer with a specialization in Azure is responsible for service delivery in public and private cloud environments, focusing on infrastructure as a service. This role involves architecting and implementing IT infrastructure technologies, managing client migrations, and ensuring system uptime while providing excellent customer support and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain server and system uptime SLAs
  • Server reporting and alert management
  • Maintain certifications with technology partners
  • Troubleshoot customer issues in an urgent fashion
  • Install and implement systems and solutions
  • Post-sales technical follow-ups
  • Provide customer remote support (primary)
  • Ensure proper tracking of work orders and incidents through an electronic help desk system
  • Manage problem resolution of issues in a timely manner
  • Prioritize tasks and meet deadlines, demonstrating excellent time management skills
  • Exhibit excellent troubleshooting and assessment skills
  • Communicate effectively in written and verbal forms
  • Mentor and guide peers and assist teammates when necessary
  • Submit timesheets, expense reports, and documentation on or before deadlines
  • Stay updated on market trends and embrace change
  • Assist with change-management activities
  • Prepare and deliver complete and concise documentation for all projects
  • Present progress reports to immediate supervisor or Project Manager
  • Manage multiple large scale projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Translate business problems into technical solutions
  • Participate in on-call schedule for network and security issues.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree required (Bachelor's Degree preferred)
  • 10+ years hands-on IT experience
  • Azure Administrator Associate or equivalent certification (Required)
  • Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate or equivalent certification desired
  • Zerto Certification desired
  • Veeam Certification desired
  • Practical operational and design expertise with Azure
  • Experience in designing architecture of private/hybrid/public cloud architectures
  • Experience in migrating workloads to public cloud environments
  • Ability to troubleshoot public cloud security, instances, and database services
  • Knowledge of cloud storage, design, and protection
  • Experience with Windows Server and Domain Services 2016 and higher
  • Expert level experience with VMware ESXi 6.x is a plus
  • Experience with vCloud Director is a plus
  • Experience with Zerto DRaaS is a plus
  • Experience with Veeam is a plus
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and experience with Windows desktop and servers
  • Basic knowledge and experience with Linux based operating systems
  • Understanding of TCP/IP including layer 2/3 VLANs
  • Ability to troubleshoot IP networks
  • Knowledge and experience with monitoring and assessment of system utilization, network performance, and capacity planning
  • Understanding of all layers of the OSI model
  • Knowledge and experience in automation including scripting and mass deployment of software
  • Knowledge of data loss prevention.
