About the position

The Senior Cloud Engineer (Azure) position at ASRC Federal Broadleaf Division involves supporting the Army Analytics Group by designing, building, and managing scalable and secure Azure infrastructure. The role focuses on automating deployment tasks, optimizing performance, ensuring security and compliance, and providing technical support for cloud services. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to integrate Azure services and document processes, while staying updated on the latest technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and manage scalable, secure, and efficient Azure infrastructure.
  • Automate deployment and management tasks using Azure PowerShell, Azure CLI, ARM templates, or Terraform.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions to streamline provisioning and configuration.
  • Implement monitoring solutions using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
  • Optimize performance and cost-efficiency, analyzing cloud resource usage and recommending improvements.
  • Ensure the security of cloud resources using Azure Security Center, Azure AD, and other security tools.
  • Implement compliance policies, access controls, and best practices for securing data and applications on Azure.
  • Configure virtual networks, subnets, VPNs, and other networking components.
  • Manage network security and ensure reliable, secure connectivity for applications.
  • Develop and implement disaster recovery plans using Azure Site Recovery and Azure Backup.
  • Ensure data resiliency and business continuity with backup and restoration strategies.
  • Resolve issues related to Azure services, ensuring system reliability and uptime.
  • Provide technical support and assist in troubleshooting cloud infrastructure and application-related issues.
  • Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to integrate Azure services into workflows.
  • Document cloud architecture, configurations, and processes for easy reference and team collaboration.
  • Stay informed on the latest Azure services, tools, and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years cloud engineering experience preferred
  • Experience with systematic problem-solving approach
  • Strong communication skills
  • Sense of ownership and drive
  • Secret clearance, or eligible to obtain Secret clearance
  • Security + CE (preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, Data Science, or Related Field
