About the position

This position is remote and can sit in the footprint of Providence in the states of AK, CA, MT, OR, TX, and WA. A Senior Cloud Engineer will collaborate with various teams within the IS organization to bolster the infrastructure. Their expertise lies in Azure Cloud Infrastructure and VMware, and they are tasked with overseeing the infrastructure and services to guarantee high availability, reliability, and scalability. They will be skilled in Azure / on-prem solutions as well as Agile DevOps (ADO) operations. This position involves key responsibilities including the operational support and execution of cloud strategies, resource efficiency, and maintaining system uptime service level agreements. A solid understanding of Windows Servers, vSphere, and Azure cloud services is required, along with a comprehensive knowledge of Azure policies, compliance measures, resource optimization, and remediation processes. Responsibilities

  • Designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure and services to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability.
  • Expert Azure administration and engineering for IaaS and PaaS, including monitoring, alerting and optimization.
  • Developing and enforcing cloud security policies and procedures to protect data and applications from unauthorized access and potential security threats.
  • Experience in automation, Azure CLI, PowerShell, Automation, Ansible (AWX), GitHub and runbooks.
  • Manage automation tooling to support organizational needs for runbooks, pipeline, and desired state.
  • Providing expert-level operational support to Servers located on-premises and Azure cloud environments.
  • Deep understanding of Windows Server and some working Linux knowledge.
  • Communicate effectively across all organizational pillars, driving technical conversations to outcomes.
  • Conducts advanced troubleshooting and devises solutions for intricate service issues to reinstate service with minimal disruption to the caregiver and business operations.
  • Ensures that production solutions are reliable, resilient, secure, and effective and continuously monitored.
  • Participate on weekly on-call rotation schedule.

Requirements

  • Expertise in Azure Cloud Infrastructure and VMware.
  • Solid understanding of Windows Servers and vSphere.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Azure policies, compliance measures, resource optimization, and remediation processes.
  • Experience in automation tools such as Azure CLI, PowerShell, Ansible (AWX), and GitHub.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a Healthcare environment.
  • Previous experience with Azure / On-prem environment: Policies, Governance, Automation, monitoring, architecture & design, engineering, etc.
  • Experience with IT service management tools such as ServiceNow and Azure DevOps (ADO).
  • Azure certification.
  • VMware certification.
