About the position

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will take on a pivotal role in managing, monitoring, and optimizing the performance, availability, security, and scalability of CLHB's cloud infrastructure and services. This includes working with various platforms such as Azure IaaS and Oracle PaaS, IaaS, and SaaS. You will lead a team of cloud engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the delivery of high-quality cloud solutions that align with the business needs and objectives of our clients. Your responsibilities will encompass designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and services, including virtual machines, storage accounts, networking, security, backup, and disaster recovery. You will be tasked with monitoring and troubleshooting cloud issues, providing root cause analysis, and optimizing cloud performance while implementing best practices and standards. As a leader, you will mentor and coach your team, providing technical guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery. In addition to your technical responsibilities, you will stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in Azure and Oracle cloud, evaluating and recommending new tools and services. Your role will also involve documenting architecture, configurations, and procedures, collaborating with other teams to design and architect cloud solutions that meet business requirements, and defining cloud infrastructure components for optimal performance and cost efficiency. You will also be responsible for implementing security best practices and compliance measures across both Oracle and Azure environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain Azure and Oracle cloud infrastructure and services, including virtual machines, storage accounts, networking, security, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot cloud issues, incidents, and alerts, providing root cause analysis and resolution.
  • Optimize cloud performance, availability, security, and cost, implementing best practices and standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and coach a team of cloud engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
  • Collaborate with development, testing, and project management teams to ensure alignment and integration of cloud solutions with business requirements.
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in Azure and Oracle cloud, evaluating and recommending new tools and services.
  • Document architecture, configurations, and procedures for cloud solutions.
  • Evaluate existing Oracle systems and propose migration strategies to Azure.
  • Define cloud infrastructure components for optimal performance and cost efficiency.
  • Install, configure, and manage Oracle databases on-premises and in the cloud, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Implement backup and recovery strategies for cloud and database environments.
  • Deploy and manage Azure services such as Azure SQL Database, Azure Virtual Machines, and Azure Functions.
  • Set up hybrid connectivity between on-premises Oracle databases and Azure resources.
  • Implement security best practices for both Oracle and Azure environments, monitoring access controls and compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop automation scripts for provisioning and managing cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
  • Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in Azure or Oracle cloud engineering, operations, or administration.
  • Strong knowledge and skills in Azure cloud infrastructure and services, including virtual machines, storage accounts, networking, security, backup, and disaster recovery.
  • Experience in Azure cloud monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization tools and techniques.
  • Experience in leading and managing a team of cloud engineers, providing technical leadership and guidance.
  • Experience in working with agile methodologies and DevOps practices, such as CI/CD, automation, and configuration management.
  • Azure certifications, such as AZ-104, AZ-303, AZ-304, AZ-400, or AZ-500, are preferred.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages, such as PowerShell, Bash, and Python.
  • Knowledge of cloud governance and compliance frameworks, such as Azure Policy and Azure Blueprints.
  • Familiarity with cloud architecture patterns and principles, such as microservices, serverless, and containers.
  • Ability to design and implement secure, scalable, resilient, and cost-effective cloud solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle database migration, backup, and recovery methods and tools.
  • Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL, PowerShell, and other scripting languages.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Oracle Cloud, AWS, or other cloud platforms is a plus.
  • Certification in Oracle Database or Azure Cloud is a plus.
  • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification preferred.
  • Experience with Oracle Database Administration (installation, patching, upgrades).
  • Familiarity with cloud security practices and compliance requirements.
