About the position

The Senior Cloud Engineer at TEKsystems is responsible for the design, operation, security, and maintenance of both Public and Private Cloud environments. This role involves installing, configuring, and upgrading various software and devices within these cloud environments, as well as diagnosing and troubleshooting system issues. The engineer will perform preventive maintenance, monitor system performance, and ensure that all documentation is current, contributing to the overall reliability and efficiency of IT services.

Responsibilities

• Design, operate, and maintain Public and Private Cloud environments including networking, compute, storage, backup, and identity.
• Install, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot servers, backup, and disaster recovery systems.
• Support backup and disaster recovery solutions and associated infrastructure.
• Install, administer, support, and maintain a variety of systems, servers, hardware, peripherals, software, and operating systems.
• Manage and support information systems security solutions, policies, and directives.
• Assist other IS staff with resolution of technical and process issues, network system support, and troubleshooting.
• Recommend new technologies and budgetary needs to ensure systems remain relevant.
• Improve monitoring reporting and documentation to minimize downtime.

Requirements

• Associate Degree in Information Technology, Computer Networking, Technology Management, Computer Programming/Software Development, or Computer Networking, or seven years of related experience.
• Certification in Azure, AWS, or GCP.
• Five years of Windows server and Active Directory experience both on-premise and in cloud infrastructure.
• Five years of experience with public and/or private clouds and disaster recovery systems.
• Direct experience in designing, planning, and executing a cloud migration strategy.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior hospital or medical practice experience.
