About the position

The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive enterprise-wide information security program. This role involves leading the creation of policies, technical standards, and guidelines to ensure compliance with security controls and regulatory requirements. The engineer will design cloud-native infrastructure in AWS, mentor peers, and integrate security tools into cloud environments, while also establishing vendor relationships and developing incident response plans.

Responsibilities

• Design a cloud native infrastructure environment in AWS from development to production environments utilizing Identity and Cybersecurity best practices.
• Mentor and consult with peers and customers.
• Configure systems and application monitoring, defining alerts and building appropriate dashboards.
• Integrate security tools, standards, and processes into cloud environments for IAM.
• Create new standards and best practices to increase effectiveness and visibility across a diverse environment.
• Establish strategic vendor relationships for security products and services.
• Develop enterprise-wide security incident response plans and strategies.
• Provide advanced level engineering design functions and serve as a point of technical escalation on complex problems.
• Create presentations and seek IT and business management approval for significant replacements or reconfigurations of major security technologies.
• Provide technical guidance and leadership to technical engineers within the organization.
• Participate in the design of the enterprise architecture and propose opportunities for improvement based on assessments.
• Research relevant trends in healthcare, business, competition, and regulatory environments; recommend strategy adjustments.
• Participate in enterprise planning activities, including vendor assessment and technology platform selection.

Requirements

• BS/BA in Information Technology or related field of study.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in systems administration and security aspects of information systems, access management, and network security technologies.
• Experience with multiple technical and business disciplines.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years hands-on experience with AWS.
• AWS Certified Solution Architect or equivalent certification.
• Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Terraform, AWS Cloud, Kubernetes, Docker, CICD pipelines, and Automation.
• Expert knowledge of industry-accepted data processing controls and concepts as applied to Security.
• CISSP preferred and other advanced technical security certifications.
• Demonstrated understanding and experience with Identity and Access Management.
• Familiarity with Security domain concepts such as SAML, OAUTH, OIDC, LDAP, SSO, ADFS, and Federation flow.
• Experience with Privileged Access solutions.
• Experience managing delivery of full-stack technical solutions.
• Exposure to agile product management.
