The Senior Cloud Engineer will work closely with junior and journeyman cloud engineers to ensure that the Enterprise Business Solutions - Convergence Cloud Environment is configured, and hardware installed correctly to support the Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) environment. The Senior Cloud Engineer is considered an expert who is responsible for ensuring that junior and journeyman cloud engineers conduct the administration and support of the network in both development and production system environments. The candidate will ensure both IL4 and IL6 networks are properly updated and supported through the monitoring of performance, appropriately allocating storage, and ensuring critical patches have been installed for optimum performance. The Senior Cloud Engineer is responsible for the EBS-C system infrastructure, implementing best practices to identify issues and recommend solutions that result in fixes for physical and the virtual systems. Support duties may include updating and supporting systems by tuning performance, allocating storage space, implementing critical patches, reviewing systems performance logs to identify anomalies, and troubleshooting issues. Works with Junior and Journeyman Cloud Engineers to achieve daily goals for system performance, care, and maintenance of robust Cloud environment with an anticipation of improving the CI/CD agile software pipeline. Will participate in daily scrums to discuss status of cloud network. Responsible for coaching, training, and reviewing the work of lower-level Cloud Engineers on the EBS-C program. Responsible for researching recommended solutions and understanding the impact on the CI/CD pipeline and conveying it to the internal EBS-C Team and customer counterparts. Communicates with the Leidos project team, prime contractor technical personnel, and ultimately Army customer. Assists Junior and Journeyman personnel with tasks and assignments to develop and maintain a robust Microsoft Azure Cloud environment to allow for a CI/CD pipeline. Regularly employs ingenuity and creativity to develop new solutions for both EBS-C development and production environments.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with junior and journeyman cloud engineers to ensure the Enterprise Business Solutions - Convergence Cloud Environment is configured correctly.
  • Ensure that both IL4 and IL6 networks are properly updated and supported through performance monitoring and storage allocation.
  • Implement best practices to identify issues and recommend solutions for physical and virtual systems.

  • Achieve daily goals for system performance and maintenance of the Cloud environment with a focus on improving the CI/CD agile software pipeline.

  • Coach, train, and review the work of lower-level Cloud Engineers on the EBS-C program.
  • Research recommended solutions and understand their impact on the CI/CD pipeline, conveying this to the internal EBS-C Team and customer counterparts.
  • Assist Junior and Journeyman personnel with tasks to develop and maintain a robust Microsoft Azure Cloud environment.

Requirements

  • BS degree and 8-12 years of prior relevant experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Expert knowledge of and ability to apply advanced cloud principles, theories, and concepts as applicable to EBS-C.
  • CompTIA Security+ certification required.
  • Experience conducting Cloud Migrations of applications from an on-prem environment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of EBS-C.
  • Experience conducting other SAP/ERP migrations to the Cloud.
  • Expertise in SAFe principles to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
