ECS is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer to work in our Fairfax, VA office. We are a rapidly growing company that considers our employees and teams to be our most important assets. The Senior Cloud Engineer will work as a member of a team managing and maintaining multiple Coalition Mission Partner Network Enclaves in support of the DoD community. This position is a demanding, high-energy role that requires innovative solutions to network, hardware, and software problems. The ideal candidate has exceptional problem-solving skills, as well as a depth and breadth of hands-on expertise in cloud networking concepts, modern CI/CD pipeline, platform automation, and infrastructure development supporting these technologies. The Senior Cloud Engineer will work in a hybrid onsite/remote capacity at ECS Corporate offices located in Fairfax VA.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate with, and support, a team of subject matter experts in a highly agile environment, to implement best-in-class, multi-cloud solutions.
  • Leverage a variety of automation, instance, and/or container orchestration, security, and native/non-native cloud services for large DoD program(s).
  • Architect, design, implement, and maintain cloud solutions and new capabilities in AWS/Azure.
  • Assist in partner network integration, testing, and monitoring.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship required per the contract.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid, on-site/remote capacity in Fairfax, VA (~3 days in office).
  • Able to obtain Top Secret/SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) discipline.
  • 8+ years of related professional experience.
  • DoD 8570 Compliant, minimum IAT Level II (e.g., CompTIA Security+ or higher); current or achieved within 60 calendar days of employment.
  • 6+ years of experience designing, engineering, and deploying infrastructure systems and services within cloud environments.
  • 6+ years of experience and proficiency working with Azure technologies including: Virtual Machines, Storage accounts, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, Azure Networking, and IAM OR, 6+ years of experience and proficiency working with Amazon Web Services' cloud services and technologies including: EC2, S3, RDS, EKS, VPC, and IAM.
  • Proficiency in developing, engineering, and deploying Docker and Kubernetes-based containerized solutions.
  • Proficiency in supporting Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Proficiency in supporting Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Proficiency in supporting Microsoft AD FS.
  • Proficiency with Cloud networking and troubleshooting Cloud networking environments (e.g., IP networking, VPNs, DNS, and load balancing).
  • Solid understanding of Firewalls, NAT, SSL/TLS, etc.
  • Experience in one or more automation languages (e.g., PowerShell, ARM/Bicep Templates, BASH, Python).
  • Experience with STIGing Windows and Linux endpoints and using the STIG Viewer for reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Political savvy to confront difficult problems in a positive and creative way.
  • Demonstrated ability to expertly balance multiple, competing priorities and execute accordingly.
  • Ability to travel both CONUS and OCONUS throughout the duration of the effort.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management, or similar STEM discipline.
  • Experience with DevSecOps frameworks.
  • Experience using big data and cloud tools and technologies.
  • Experience working with DoD computer network organizations and/or performers.
  • AWS certification(s): AWS Certified Solution Architect - Associate/Professional preferred.
  • Azure certification(s): AZ-103/104 and/or AZ-304/305 highly desired.
  • Current CompTIA Security+ and/or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) preferred.
