About the position

The Senior Cloud Foundry System Developer will join the Platform-as-a-Service team at Travelers, focusing on transforming the technology landscape in the public cloud (AWS). This role involves advanced engineering tasks for Open Cloud Foundry platform assignments, including design, development, testing, and implementation based on user specifications. The individual will work independently and provide technical guidance to less experienced team members, contributing to the overall success of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis, design, development, and configuration functions with high accuracy and speed.
  • Analyze, assess, and resolve defects and incidents of advanced complexity.
  • Work independently on well-scoped and loosely scoped problems.
  • Seek opportunities to expand technical knowledge and capabilities.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Two years of programming/development experience.
  • Four years of system-oriented programming/development experience preferred, focusing on server-related code deliverables.
  • Proven expertise in the GO programming language and proficiency in Java, C#, Python, Ruby, or node.js.
  • Advanced experience in Linux shell scripting (e.g., BASH).
  • Experience with GitOps discipline and Infrastructure-as-Code deployments, especially with YAML-based model.
  • Background in writing system extensions for container-based platforms is highly desired.
  • Operator experience for a container platform is required.
  • Advanced expertise in Windows and Linux operating system programming.

  • Intermediate delivery skills including accurate task estimation and steady work pace.
  • Demonstrated track record of domain expertise and awareness of industry trends.
