About the position

The Network team is seeking a Vice President to join the Global Cloud Network team, focusing on cloud networking, cloud security, and cloud infrastructure services such as DNS. This role presents a significant opportunity to contribute to the development of multi-cloud hybrid architecture standards within a global organization. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of various cloud providers' virtual networking constructs and connectivity options to on-premise data centers, alongside core routing expertise with OSPF and BGP, as well as traditional LAN design. In this position, you will be responsible for deploying WAN and data center connectivity while adhering to established routing principles. You will design, implement, and support the network infrastructure based on defined standards, ensuring that network design principles and requirements are clearly communicated to cross-functional teams within State Street and cloud service provider teams. As a point of escalation for critical issues related to cloud performance and connectivity, you will play a vital role in maintaining operational excellence. Your responsibilities will also include participating in and approving networking updates through CI/CD pipelines, driving the implementation of global hybrid connectivity to cloud providers via dedicated circuits such as ExpressRoute, FastConnect, and DirectConnect. You will act as a subject matter expert in the design and implementation of cloud routing platforms, including AWS CloudWan and Azure vWAN, and will leverage network tools to automate, manage, and troubleshoot the network effectively. Additionally, you will be tasked with creating and maintaining comprehensive network documentation and diagrams.

Responsibilities

  • Expertise in deploying WAN and data center connectivity and routing principles.
  • Responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting the network infrastructure based on defined standards.
  • Ability to clearly articulate network design principles and requirements to cross-functional teams within State Street as well as cloud service provider teams.
  • Act as a point of escalation for critical issues involving cloud performance and connectivity.
  • Participate and approve networking updates via our CI/CD Pipelines.
  • Drive the implementation of global hybrid connectivity to Cloud Providers via dedicated circuits (ExpressRoute, FastConnect, DirectConnect).
  • Act as the subject matter expert in the design and implementation of cloud routing platforms such as AWS CloudWan and Azure vWAN.
  • Experience with deploying Cisco VxLAN/EVPN /BGP environments.
  • Ensure compliance with the standards and requirements relative to cyber security.
  • Leverage network tools to automate, manage, and troubleshoot the network.
  • Create and maintain network documentation and diagrams.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 10+ years' experience in network industry
  • Experience with large scale migrations from on prem to cloud
  • Knowledge of cloud-based extranet and internet topologies, design, and implementations
  • Ability to create and understand policies for NSX-T in VMWare Cloud (VMC)
  • Experience troubleshooting NSX-T deployments in VMC
  • Proven experience in developing design, configuration, and standards documentation
  • Proven Effectiveness in the areas of Vendor management, cost analysis, and RFP frameworks.
