About the position

The Senior CloudOps Engineer at Lyric plays a crucial role in managing and optimizing the company's cloud infrastructure, ensuring its security, efficiency, reliability, and scalability. This position involves working with AWS in a multi-account environment, supporting teams in owning their infrastructure, and driving continuous improvement in CloudOps and DevOps practices. The role directly impacts the deployment of applications, infrastructure cost management, and the acceleration of new product launches, ultimately enhancing business performance and competitiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, implement, and optimize cloud-based solutions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy robust, automated systems that support the organization's mission-critical applications and services
  • Monitor and maintain the health of our cloud environment by identifying and resolving issues proactively resulting in minimal downtime and incidents
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation across our CloudOps and DevOps practices
  • Participate in the on-call rotation
  • Leverage industry best practices
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers

Requirements

  • 5 + years of AWS cloud experience
  • 5 + years experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation
  • 5 + years of production grade coding experience with languages such as Bash, Python and Golang for scripting and automation of services
  • 3 + years of experience with containerization, the docker ecosystem and related tooling
  • 3 years of experience with advanced AWS networking technologies such as VPC and Transit Gateway based technologies

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Azure preferred
  • Experience with Kubernetes technologies and ability to design and diagnose production grade deployments at scale is preferred
  • A solid grasp of cloud security and best practices and an understanding of compliance standards such as HIPAA and HITRUST is preferred
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills
  • Ability to design and present complex topics to the team
  • Adept at critical thinking and problem solving
