About the position

The Senior Cloud Security Engineer at PIMCO will play a pivotal role in enhancing the security posture of our cloud infrastructure and applications. As a Senior Cloud Security Engineer, you will also be responsible for conducting security assessments, vulnerability management, and incident response. You will leverage your expertise in cloud technologies, particularly AWS, to implement security controls and monitor for potential threats. Your ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders will be crucial in promoting a security-first mindset within the organization. Responsibilities

  • Design and implement security measures for cloud-based systems.
  • Monitor and assess security risks in cloud infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance security protocols.
  • Conduct security assessments and vulnerability management.
  • Lead incident response efforts and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Mentor junior engineers and promote security awareness across the organization.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional experience working in the investment management domain.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent; a higher degree is desirable.
  • Strong OOP skills with hands-on experience in Python.
  • Intermediate SQL/Database Query experience required.
  • Strong analytical ability to learn independently from the code / reverse engineer.
  • Ability to work well independently and in cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience with AXIOMA Optimization Software and equity data sets like BARRA/ITG is a plus.
  • Snowflake/AWS exposure is preferred.
