About the position

The Senior Cloud Services Engineer at Teradata is responsible for designing and implementing cloud services that manage infrastructure and control planes across public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. This role involves automating the provisioning, configuration, management, and monitoring of Teradata Cloud services, ensuring security and compliance through the development of threat models. The engineer will work within a team focused on building multi-cloud infrastructure services, contributing to the enhancement of Teradata's analytics capabilities in the cloud.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement cloud services for managing infrastructure and control planes on public cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud.
  • Implement automations for provisioning, configuring, managing, and monitoring Teradata Cloud services, sites, and offerings.
  • Develop threat models to ensure cloud platform services are secure and compliant with standards.

Requirements

  • Graduate or bachelor's degree in computer science.
  • At least 5+ years of hands-on software development experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience with designing, building, and operating distributed complex software systems on Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure.
  • Experience with dev-ops software development methods.
  • Strong computer science fundamentals in data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with at least one modern general-purpose programming language like Go or Python.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in full stack development.
  • Experience with RESTful services and familiarity with Teradata (or other TDMS) NoSQL/SQL database concepts.
  • Experience with Docker container technologies.
  • Experience in Kubernetes management and services development.
  • Experience supporting mission-critical, 24x7 systems.
  • Experience influencing software engineering best practices within the team.
  • Familiarity with dev-ops software development methods.
  • Demonstrable scripting experience with various scripting languages for automating tasks, generating reports, and creating tools.
