The Senior Cloud Storage Engineer plays a critical role in the analysis and research of systems and networks, focusing on the design and implementation of cloud storage solutions, particularly in backup and recovery management. This position is essential for ensuring the integrity and availability of data across multiple cloud environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for advanced engineering design functions, which include building infrastructure for compute, storage, network, backups, disaster recovery (DR), and monitoring. The role requires a proactive approach to creating presentations and seeking IT management approval for significant replacements or reconfigurations of major business systems that serve the enterprise. In this position, the Senior Cloud Storage Engineer will lead the implementation and management of Rubrik data backup and recovery solutions for enterprise clients. This includes conducting regular system backups, performing disaster recovery drills, and maintaining comprehensive documentation for Rubrik environments. The engineer will troubleshoot and resolve Rubrik-related issues, deploy and configure Rubrik Clusters and Polaris UI, and design and implement Rubrik Cloud Data Management solutions tailored for enterprise environments. The role also involves performing granular recoveries for individual files, applications, and images, utilizing Cloud Archive for long-term data retention and disaster recovery. The engineer will develop complex solutions based on business requirements and architectural specifications, contributing to the creation of reusable artifacts such as CloudFormation templates. They will direct the construction of architecture components, participate in enterprise architecture design, and ensure compliance with security, cost, performance, and durability best practices. The Senior Cloud Storage Engineer will also advocate for and implement cloud security policies in collaboration with InfoSec teams, perform configuration management duties, and scale production systems and technologies. Additionally, they will be responsible for monitoring the availability, latency, performance, and efficiency of the cloud environment, participating in postmortem activities for significant cloud-related incidents to identify root causes and improve future responses.
