The Arkansas Federal Credit Union is seeking a dedicated professional to join our team as a Commercial Loan Officer. This position plays a crucial role in developing a highly effective team of employees, focusing on coaching and leadership to help them reach their highest potential. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure that outstanding service is delivered to both internal and external members. A key component of this position is to identify members' financial needs and suggest appropriate Credit Union solutions while balancing the risk and reward of credit decisions. This role is vital in minimizing liability to the credit union and directly impacting the overall financial performance of the commercial loan portfolio. As a Commercial Loan Officer, you will be responsible for identifying potential business lending opportunities by utilizing market knowledge and regional centers of influence to achieve your goals. You will develop new business by actively contacting prospects and maintaining an active calling program. Building and developing existing business member relationships is essential, as is the ability to cross-sell credit union products effectively. You will interview loan applicants, collect and analyze financial data, conduct site visits, and review supporting documentation to determine the creditworthiness of applicants. Negotiating terms, pricing, and loan structures in accordance with policy is a critical aspect of this role. You will also be responsible for the accuracy and completeness of preliminary analyses of financial statements, tax returns, collateral appraisals, and other pertinent business information used to assess creditworthiness. This includes reviewing loan agreements and ensuring proper lien documentation, filing, and perfection to protect the credit union's interests. Collaboration with credit analysts is essential to ensure timely and thorough reviews of loan applications. You will review and make decisions on loans within your designated lending authority and prepare loan requests for presentation to senior management and/or loan committees. Managing an existing loan portfolio is another key responsibility, which includes monitoring assigned portfolios and loan repayment activities, proactively collecting from past-due accounts, and conducting annual reviews of assigned portfolios in conjunction with credit analysts. You will also manage collection and loan workout processes when necessary, negotiating terms, costs, repayment schedules, and collateral requirements. Maintaining good relations with business partners and ensuring compliance with all laws and regulations governing commercial loans is essential. Participation in community and business events to promote the credit union's visibility and develop new business prospects is also expected. Other related duties may be assigned as required.
