About the position

The Senior Communications Specialist will support the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in Baltimore, Maryland, focusing on communication strategies and materials. This role involves managing various communication services, executing outreach strategies, and providing expert communications support for implementation activities. The position requires a blend of creativity, strategic thinking, and collaboration with diverse stakeholders to effectively disseminate information and support leadership messaging.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide services including design, creation, production, and distribution of communication materials.
• Execute strategies for dissemination, including outreach, partnership development, and marketing.
• Coordinate with existing contractors to develop dissemination planning and execution materials for training events.
• Provide expert communications expertise for the development of work products and strategies for implementation activities.
• Support leadership in messaging regarding implementation science and solutions.
• Identify concepts for messages and materials through formative research and audience feedback.
• Support studies and analysis for preparing reports, studies, and briefing papers on agency activities.

Requirements

• 10+ years of senior-level communications experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Communications or related field; Master's Level Degree preferred.
• Fluency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively and clearly.
• Extensive experience in creating and delivering PowerPoint presentations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and social sensitivity to relate to diverse backgrounds.
• Excellent time management and communication skills, with the ability to support multiple projects.
• Proficient with office equipment and business software, including Microsoft Office suite.
