About the position

The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a Senior Communications Systems Engineer to join our Communication Systems Engineering Department (CSED) within the Communication Technologies and Engineering Division (CTED). This role is pivotal in supporting the nation's space programs by providing unmatched technical expertise in communications, networking, and Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) systems. As a trusted partner to various defense, civil, and commercial customers, we are engaged in solving complex problems that span satellite, launch, ground, and cyber systems. The successful candidate will be part of a team that is dedicated to delivering innovative solutions and ensuring robust and resilient communications for our clients. In this position, you will independently execute and lead projects that involve physical layer modeling and simulation, communication waveform design, and performance analysis. You will also be responsible for designing and analyzing position, navigation, and timing signals, conducting communication link budget analysis, and evaluating both current and future programs in areas such as satellite communications, signal intelligence (SIGINT), and electronic warfare (EW). Your expertise will be crucial in developing and evaluating program requirements, interfaces, and verification processes, as well as in the development of digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms. You will be expected to provide implementable technical solutions to some of the nation’s hardest problems and translate vague concepts into practical, well-defined technical plans. Clear communication of technical results through written reports and presentations will also be a key aspect of your role. This position requires a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration, as you will work closely with corporate and U.S. Government customers to ensure that their needs are met effectively. The work model for this position necessitates at least four days on-site in either El Segundo, CA, or Colorado Springs, CO, allowing for a hands-on approach to problem-solving and project execution.
