About the position

As a Senior Community Banking Manager at Peoples Security Bank & Trust, you will play a pivotal role in expanding relationships within the community while promoting the bank's brand. This position requires a proactive approach to understanding and addressing the financial needs of clients, whether in-person or virtually. You will be responsible for mentoring and developing staff to ensure they embody the bank's mission and values, which focus on exceeding customer expectations. Your expertise in the bank's consumer deposit and loan products will be essential as you engage with customers to provide tailored financial solutions. In this role, you will maintain an expert knowledge of the bank's offerings, including consumer deposits, loans, and business cash management services. You will engage with customers to attract, retain, and grow relationships, assisting them with account selections and complex business account openings. Your ability to source, process, and close consumer loans and residential mortgages will be crucial. Collaboration with internal partners will allow you to connect customers with specialized financial services, enhancing their overall banking experience. As a leader, you will coach and develop your team in customer relationship management, ensuring they are equipped to support clients effectively. Your representation of the bank in the community will involve volunteering and participating in local events to promote financial literacy and the bank's services. You will also be responsible for networking and outbound sales efforts to drive business opportunities, implementing strategies to meet the goals set for your office and the broader Retail Banking Division. Additionally, you will provide oversight for branch operations, ensuring compliance with banking regulations and maintaining high standards of service. Your ability to resolve customer and staff issues diplomatically will be key to maintaining a positive work environment. Depending on the needs of the bank, you may also manage multiple branches, further expanding your impact within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Actively seek opportunities to expand relationships focusing on the financial needs of the community.
  • Mentor, develop, and coach staff to deliver the bank's mission and values.
  • Engage and advise customers in person and virtually to attract, retain, and grow relationships.
  • Assist clients with deposit accounts and ancillary service selections, opening them in a timely manner.
  • Independently handle complex business account openings.
  • Proactively identify, source, process, and close consumer loans and residential portfolio mortgages.
  • Collaborate with internal partners to connect customers to experts in specialized financial services.
  • Lead, coach, and provide additional training to staff in customer relationship development.
  • Represent the bank in the community, volunteering and serving on non-profit boards and committees.
  • Engage with the public at events to promote financial literacy and the bank's products and services.
  • Perform networking and outbound sales calling to drive retail business opportunities.
  • Implement strategies to achieve goals developed for the office and region as part of the Retail Banking Division's annual operating plan.
  • Provide branch oversight in conjunction with the Assistant Branch Manager, ensuring compliance with procedures and policies.
  • Assist with operational duties of the branch, including processing transactional activities as needed.
  • Resolve customer and staff issues quickly and independently with diplomacy.
  • May be required to manage more than one branch.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree generally required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a related position required.
  • Strong communication skills across various channels (face-to-face, email, video conference, text/chat, social media).
  • Excellent interpersonal relationship building skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and motivate others.
  • Superb networking skills with established in-market referral sources preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of branch operations and administration.
  • Well-versed in consumer and business financial products and services.
  • Expert consumer lending skills; residential mortgage experience preferred.
  • Adept in the use of various types of technology and software.
  • Bi-lingual language is a plus.
