About the position

The Senior Community Manager at Canby Village is responsible for overseeing the operations of a 52-unit affordable apartment community. This role involves ensuring compliance with ownership goals, managing property staff, and maintaining high standards of customer service and property maintenance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in property management, particularly in affordable housing, and will be expected to handle financial reporting, budgeting, and regulatory compliance effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the property meets ownership goals and objectives.
  • Enforce Guardian Management policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to Fair Housing and Landlord Tenant Laws.
  • Supervise property staff and vendors to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Maintain excellent curb appeal and proactive property maintenance.
  • Safeguard the financial health and stability of the property.
  • Confirm compliance with all government and property program requirements.
  • Complete required paperwork and reports on time.
  • Manage all property operations in compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
  • Assist in the development of operating income/expense budgets and capital budgets.
  • Analyze and report monthly financial statements.
  • Complete resident income certifications and recertifications accurately and timely.
  • Administer budgets and recommend corrective actions to maximize efficiency and profitability.
  • Coordinate collection and documentation of all revenues.
  • Direct the day-to-day activities of property staff and manage their performance.
  • Administer leasing efforts and respond to leasing inquiries.
  • Collect delinquent accounts according to legal guidelines.
  • Work with Portfolio Manager to supervise property vendors.
  • Approve invoices for goods/services required for property upkeep.
  • Prepare and lead site staff meetings and document minutes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of three years of experience managing an affordable multi-family community.
  • At least one year of experience developing and adhering to an annual budget.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills and understanding of property budgets and financial accounting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to complete company training requirements within deadlines.
