About the position

The Senior Compensation Analyst at T. Rowe Price plays a crucial role in supporting the design, implementation, and maintenance of effective compensation programs for assigned global client groups. This position requires collaboration with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) and Senior HR Consultants to ensure that compensation strategies align with the company's overall goals. The analyst will act as an expert on compensation trends in the external market, providing consultation to clients to ensure that T. Rowe Price's compensation programs are competitive and relevant. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring three days a week in the Owings Mills office. In this position, the Senior Compensation Analyst will manage various compensation processes, including year-end compensation reviews, benchmarking, offer analyses, and periodic reporting for HR partners and senior management. Establishing strong working relationships with HR partners and business leaders is essential to support managers in effectively utilizing compensation programs to meet their needs. The analyst will independently research and analyze external market data on compensation trends and may collaborate with outside consultants for special studies or competitive intelligence. The role also involves assessing compensation programs to ensure they align with the Total Rewards strategy and evolving business needs. The analyst may serve as a subject matter expert on related projects, coordinating resources and managing project plans. Additionally, the analyst will create presentations to accurately display information and influence decision-making. Providing ad hoc consultative guidance to managers and HR partners on complex compensation questions is also a key responsibility, requiring independent analytical thought and creative solutions. The analyst may also support the design and operationalization of specific firmwide compensation programs.

Responsibilities

  • Manages compensation processes for assigned global client groups including year-end compensation processes, benchmarking, offer analyses, and periodic reporting for HR Partners and senior management.
  • Establishes working relationships with HR partners and business leaders to support manager understanding of how to best utilize programs to meet their needs.
  • Independently researches and analyzes external market data on compensation trends, potentially working with outside consultants for special studies or competitive intelligence.
  • Assesses programs and offerings to ensure alignment with Total Rewards strategy and evolving business needs, ensuring cultural and market relevance.
  • May serve as a subject matter expert on related projects, partnering and collaborating on project plans and resource management.
  • Understands data requirements and creates presentations to display information accurately and influence decision-making.
  • Provides ad hoc consultative guidance or analyses to managers, HR Business Partners, and other HR COE partners on complex compensation questions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Psychology, Human Resources, or related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of total relevant work experience in compensation and/or financial analysis, preferably in asset management or financial services.
  • Solid knowledge of compensation processes and practices, particularly around benchmarking and managing salary structures.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with HR colleagues and Business Unit Leaders.
