About the position

The Senior Compensation Analyst will provide comprehensive compensation consulting, education, and analytical support to various stakeholders within the medical center, including management, Employee Relations, and HR Business Partners. The role involves developing compensation strategies, conducting competitive analyses, and ensuring compliance with compensation regulations. The analyst will also facilitate the administration of annual increases and assist in the development of compensation structures and job architecture.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compensation consulting and analytical support to medical center management and HR Business Partners.
  • Develop base salary, bonus/incentive, and other compensation delivery strategies.
  • Perform competitive analyses through market-pricing and survey participation.
  • Consult with management on position descriptions and JCAHO competency requirements.
  • Conduct job evaluations for proper grade level assignment and salary recommendations.
  • Review and approve workflow items in HR Systems regarding job classification and salary adjustments.
  • Prepare and respond to salary surveys, ensuring appropriate job matches and thorough completion of questionnaires.
  • Facilitate the administration of annual increases for union and non-union populations.
  • Assist in the development of compensation structures and salary scales.
  • Update compensation and job architecture for better decision making.
  • Ensure compliance with collectively bargained contractual compensation commitments.
  • Supply testimony at arbitrations and grievance hearings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Prior compensation administration experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in job description preparation, job evaluation, and compensation planning.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of compensation regulations and legislation (ADA, DOL, FLSA, EEO, NYS Wage/Hour).
  • Strong quantitative, data analysis, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, MS Word, and HRIS platforms.
  • Knowledge of current compensation practices and labor/pay laws.
  • Prior experience in a healthcare organization preferred.
  • Prior union experience preferred.
