About the position

In the role of Senior Compensation Analyst for UCLA Health Systems, you will be an integral part of our high-volume Compensation team. Your primary responsibility will be to leverage your strong Tableau and data visualization skills to provide critical metrics on internal and external pay issues, market competitiveness, and other data-driven projects. This position requires you to make informed recommendations that align with established guidelines, policies, and practices, while also fulfilling our compensation philosophy. This philosophy emphasizes aligning our compensation strategies with leading health systems in local, regional, and national markets where UCLA Health competes for top talent. Your work will be pivotal in grounding our compensation decisions in data, which is essential for cultivating long-term loyalty and retention of key talent within the organization. As a Senior Compensation Analyst, you will also spearhead special projects and provide guidance to the Compensation management team. Your role will involve collaborating with managers and leaders across the organization to ensure that compensation practices are competitive and equitable. You will be expected to analyze complex data sets, understand statistical concepts, and apply your knowledge of compensation-related laws and regulations to inform your analyses and recommendations. Responsibilities

  • Utilize Tableau and data visualization skills to provide key metrics on pay issues and market competitiveness.
  • Make recommendations that align with established compensation guidelines and practices.
  • Spearhead special projects and provide guidance to the Compensation management team.
  • Collaborate with managers and leaders across the organization to ensure competitive compensation practices.
  • Analyze complex data sets and apply statistical concepts to inform compensation decisions.
  • Research information and analyze data to arrive at valid conclusions and recommendations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or a combination of education and experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in compensation administration.
  • Advanced skills in Tableau and Excel for data analysis.
  • Strong experience with statistical data sets, including regression analysis.
  • Experience working with SQL.
  • In-depth knowledge of compensation practices and programs.
  • Understanding of compensation-related laws and regulations, including FLSA.
  • Advanced interpersonal and communication skills to establish rapport with various stakeholders.
  • Strong writing skills for developing reports, procedures, and correspondence.
  • Proven client-oriented, consultative, and collaborative approach in analysis and resolution of issues.
  • Demonstrated success in working collaboratively with team members to achieve goals.
