About the position

The Senior Compensation Analyst at Plains All American is responsible for developing and implementing compensation programs within the organization. This role involves conducting market analysis to research trends in the energy sector and providing recommendations for compensation initiatives. The analyst will also administer systems that support these programs and work closely with HR to ensure consistency in job specifications and compensation structures.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in formal and informal compensation surveys and analyze data to determine market competitiveness.
  • Research and assess market trends regarding variable pay program designs and targets.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual compensation cycles related to merit and incentive programs.
  • Work closely with HR Business Partners to develop job specifications and market price new jobs.
  • Provide analytical support for ad hoc research and compensation projects.
  • Create reports to streamline and support compensation programs.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for internal controls.
  • Advise management on compensation best practices and compliance issues.
  • Provide system administration for compensation programs, including job profiles and incentive targets.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Experience with HRIS, preferably Workday/Advanced Compensation modules.
  • Experience with Long Term Incentive Plans and related systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with high accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a customer service focus.

Nice-to-haves

  • Industry certifications in Human Resources or related fields.
  • Prior work experience in the energy sector.
